Middleton Tyas is a small, thriving village in beautiful North Yorkshire. The village enjoys a transhigh speed broadband as a result of the Superfast North Yorkshire project. Middleton Tyas has an intriguing past and an active present supported by a strong sense of community. There is a village Memorial Hall, a Community Shop, a well supported Church, a CofE Primary School, a monthly newsletter, the Village News, a pub/restaurant, The Shoulder of Mutton, and various clubs and societies including a very active WI. This website, which was set up by the Parish Council in 2011 courtesy of a North Richmondshire Community Partnership grant, is being developed as the focus for village communication. We hope to provide something of value and interest to village residents, ex-residents, potential residents and anyone who wants to know a little bit more about Middleton Tyas. Lest loyal readers of the Village News be concerned, the website is working in conjunction with the Village News and you will find a web version of the current News on this site.
Looking to the future it is unlikely that our website will ever be 'finished' for the aim is that it will continually evolve to reflect the life of the village and our use of the internet. There is plenty of scope for the website to develop and if you would like to contribute by suggesting additional pages or information or by providing photographs for the picture gallery then please e-mail our editor. In particular, if you would like to develop a short history of the village to be included on the website, that would be very welcome.
To learn more about Middleton Tyas and the many opportunities for residents to be involved in village life you are invited to feast on the navigation at the top and menu at the side of this page and, in particular, the Latest News and the Events pages.
